Tagging Products on Videos

Updated this week

Tagging products to your videos helps turn regular content into powerful shopping moments. This article walks you through all the ways you can tag products, so shoppers can instantly explore and buy the items featured.

Use Cases

Direct add-to-cart from videos

When products are tagged to a video, shoppers can tap the tag and add the item to their cart instantly — without leaving the video. This creates a seamless shopping flow, boosts impulse purchases, and keeps engagement high.

Multi-video storytelling for a single product

Tagging multiple videos to the same product lets you showcase different angles, routines, or styling ideas — like a full skincare regimen, multiple dress-up looks, or various material close-ups. This gives shoppers a richer understanding of the product and helps them imagine how it fits into their daily lives.

Setup

1. On the Whatmore dashboard, find “Videos”.

2. To tag products to the videos imported under "Social Media Videos", you can do one of the two:

AI Smart-Match

To let AI instantly scan your imported Instagram videos and suggest accurate product matches in under a minute, saving you the time and effort of searching manually, click on "Smart Match".

💡 Pro Tip: To smart match multiple videos at the same time, simply select them and click on smart match.

Tag products manually

If you prefer full control, simply search and select products directly from your Shopify store, or paste the product URL to add them yourself.

💡 Pro Tip: Tagging multiple products to the same video ensures that the video appears on each of those products’ pages across your video widgets.

This is a great way to increase content variety and give shoppers more visual context while browsing.

3. To tag products to videos uploaded under “Website Videos,” simply search and select items from your Shopify store, or paste the product URL to add the tag manually.

💡 Pro Tip: Adding a custom CTA lets you turn video views into meaningful actions. Click to see how.
