Analytics Overview

Analytics Overview shows what Whatmore videos are doing for your store — comparing shoppers who watched a video against those who didn't across sales, conversion and order value, and showing which pages and widgets drive them.

The page has two parts: the uplift cards at the top, and the journey table, chart and downloads below them. The cards tell you how much video is adding; the table and chart tell you where it's coming from and whether it's growing.

Sales: the revenue from orders placed in your selected date range.

  • Total sales- revenue across your whole store

  • Whatmore video session sales- revenue from orders where the shopper watched a video, and what share of your total that is

  • Whatmore widget impression sales- revenue from shoppers who saw a widget but didn't watch, counted separately so the two never overlap

Conversion: the share of visitors who went on to buy.

  • All pages - your store's overall conversion rate

  • Whatmore pages- conversion rate for shoppers who watched a video

  • Conversion uplift- how many times higher the video rate is

Average order value (AOV): average order value: revenue divided by number of orders, i.e. what a typical order is worth.

  • Without Whatmore- AOV for shoppers who watched no video

  • With Whatmore- AOV for shoppers who watched a video

  • AOV uplift- the percentage difference between the two

Engagement - shows how much attention your videos are getting through views, watch time, likes and shares, so you can see which content is landing before it turns into revenue.

How shoppers reach your videos

This table breaks your funnel into segments. Each row is a slice of your traffic- a page type, a widget, a device and each column group is a stage of the journey: All visitors, Saw the widget, Watched a video. Read across a row to see how far that segment got; read down a column to see which segments bring the most watching and buying. The Total row at the top is your reference point for the whole store.

Break down by — split the table by Source (Homepage, Product Pages, Collection, Pages), Widget (Carousel, Collection Carousel, Stories, Banner, Spotlight) or Device (Desktop, Mobile, Tablet). Click the All dropdown on an active filter to include or exclude specific values.

Metrics — choose which columns appear under each stage. Funnel metrics (Sessions, Sales, CVR, AOV) exist at every stage. Video engagement metrics (Video clicks, Product clicks, Engagement, Watch time) only exist once a video is watched. Engagement and Watch time can be shown as a Total or an Avg per session.

Sessions / Users — Sales and AOV are identical in both; counts, CVR and per-session averages change. The Full report's Summary and Funnel sheets follow this setting too.

Few things to try

  • Which page type converts best? Break down by Source, then read the CVR column under "Watched a video". Homepage traffic often converts differently from product-page traffic.

  • Is a widget worth keeping? Break down by Widget and compare Sessions under "Saw the widget" with "Watched a video". If many shoppers see a widget but few press play, it's being ignored. A widget that fewer people see but more people play is doing its job.

  • Where do mobile shoppers drop off? Break down by Device and compare Sessions at each stage. If many mobile shoppers see the widget but few press play, the problem is usually where the widget sits or how fast it loads, not the video itself.

  • Are shoppers clicking through to products? Add Product clicks and Video clicks from Metrics, then break down by Widget. Many plays but few product clicks means the video is being watched but the tagged products aren't tempting anyone.

Combining filters splits every row again — Source × Device gives you "Homepage on mobile", "Homepage on desktop", and so on.

Track metrics over time

The chart turns any metric on this page into a trend line, so you can see not just where you stand but which direction things are moving — and whether a new widget, campaign or season actually changed anything.

  • Metric- what to plot, and at which funnel stage.

  • Break down by- Splits the metric into one line per value, so you can compare mobile against desktop, or one widget against another.

  • Granularity - group by 1, 7, 15 or 30 days. Options too wide for your date range are hidden, so the chart always has enough points to show a shape.

  • Line or Bar- line for trends over time, bar for comparing periods side by side.

Download report

Three Excel files, all covering the date range you've selected.

  • Full report — the whole page as a workbook: summary, funnel, breakdowns by source, widget and device with charts, a daily trend, and a definitions sheet. The funnel sheet includes two extra stages not shown on the page: "Visited a video page" and "Added to cart or buy now from a video".

  • Raw orders — one row per order, with its date, order ID, attribution, conversion type, A/B group and value. Useful for reconciling against Shopify.

  • Video engagement — two sheets: performance per page and widget, and per individual video including its URL. Both carry video views, product tile interactions, likes, shares, watched sessions and watch time.
